The Care Centre has been an integral part of The Lodge since its inception 30 years ago. The matron, trained in geriatric care, manages the Care Centre and is assisted by other trained staff on duty 24 hours per day. The 22-bed facility is available to all residents at The Lodge, and the Care Centre also accepts non-residents requiring special care.
To bolster care throughout the village, all residents use an intercom system to communicate between themselves and there is also a panic-button system connected directly to the Care Centre. Emergency medical support is thus an added reality.
The clinic & treatment room is available for visiting doctors, physiotherapists and other medical services. The Lodge supports community home-based healthcare with care-givers to ensure that residents fully enjoy their homes.
Patients are included in the social activities of The Lodge, enjoy the hairdressing salon and participate in social functions. Care Centre patients and Mid-Care residents have access to the dining facilities, including three meals daily with morning & afternoon tea, but also have a Care Centre sitting and dining room for their own use. Laundry services are included.
